I can confidently say I come from an extensive line of strong women whose lived experiences guide me. Their resilience, wisdom, and unwavering determination have shaped the way I approach challenges, empowering me to stand tall and embrace every opportunity with confidence and purpose. I may not have spent many of my formative years with these women, yet their stories and experiences have guided me through every choice I have encountered, for it is through their stories that I find the strength to persevere and grow.

I am a descendant of strong maternal figures, trailblazers, educators, artists, and icons: She Warriors. They taught me the spirit of inquiry, individuality, a sense of tenacity, loyalty, and respect for all. I am a descendant of Maria, Candi, Otilia, Magdalena, Elsa, and Sara. I am here because of these amazing women, and I will make them proud.

Our history is a wellspring of lessons, and by honoring it, we not only preserve their legacy but also equip ourselves to navigate the future. It is through this continuous learning, from both those who came before us and our own experiences, that we unlock the power to keep evolving and striving for more.

Carmen Rojas Gines; my mother, is my example of a 'She Warrior,' my 'Guerrera.' She inspires me every day through her resilience and determination to achieve her goals, showing me the true meaning of strength and what it means to forge ahead with purpose, no matter the obstacles. Carmen, like the generations of women before her, has taught me that strength lies not just in overcoming adversity but in embracing vulnerability and growth. Through her example, I have learned that resilience is not the absence of struggle but the ability to rise from it, stronger and more determined. She is the living embodiment of the legacy of these remarkable women—it is through her, and the women before her, that I am empowered to create my own path, one rooted in courage, tenacity, and an unwavering commitment to creating an impactful future.
